The greater Reading area has connections with some of the game’s biggest legends such as Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, A.W. Tillinghast dating back to the early 1900’s. Galen Hall Golf Course, was expanded to 18 holes by legendary designer A.W. Tillinghast. Lebanon Valley Golf Course is just a ½ mile away from the Quality Inn Lantern Lodge. The Reading Country Club was once home to the legendary Byron Nelson, as the club’s head pro shortly after winning the Master’s in 1937. The Holiday Inn Morgantown sits surrounded by courses, offering an on-site restaurant and lounge. Honeybrook Golf Club offers challenge, bent grass fairways, and a slower pace inherent to Amish country. To the southern part of the region lies Downingtown Country Club, designed by George Fazio, uncle to legendary designer Tom Fazio.
